RV season is officially underway! Winter is over and spring is turning to summer. It’s time to prep your RV for all of the summer adventures on your bucket list.
Here’s a quick and easy checklist to get your RV road-ready for this summer’s road trips:
Kick the Tires! And Check Them, Too
It is a house on wheels, after all. Checking the tires is essential. Make sure they’re in good condition with plenty of tread and no leaks. Check the pressure and add air if needed. And make sure the lug nuts are tight.
All Systems Go!
Check out all of the systems. Here’s a quick list:
• Water heater
• Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors
• Fire extinguisher
• Engine fluid levels
Make Sure It’s Clean
Your RV is like a second home, especially during the summer. And after a long winter in storage, it’s time to spruce the place up. Clean it like you would your home, and don’t forget about the floors! Most RVs have carpet in them, and that carpet gets dirty with all of the in-and-out traffic.
Most of us don’t think to bring in professional cleaners in the fall before stowing the RV, but you definitely should in the spring. Not only do you want a fresh start, but you don’t want the dirt from last season to get ground into the carpet – and then add more on top of it. Professional carpet cleaners not only clean the carpets but can clean the upholstery as well.
